One of my favorite Irish melodies that I came to understand a bit more while in Dublin. One of the places we visited was a prison that housed an unfortunate number of prisoners over the centuries. Some from the many rebellions, but also a good deal who would commit crimes during the famines just so they could go to prison to get some food. This song tells the story of man who stole from a wealthy landowner to feed his family.
